Angela Merkel attends the national anthem after earthquakes

TThe unusual decision to use seats was taken a day after a similar ceremony when the German Chancellor was seen shaking involuntarily for the third time.

Merkel began Wednesday shaking as national anthems were played at the reception of Finnish Prime Minister Antti Rinne.

A little over an hour later, she attended a press conference as planned and told reporters that her health condition was not a cause for concern.

She explained that she was just still in a "treatment" phase of a previous spell, but that "there has been progress."

"I will have to live with her for a while," said Merkel, who turns 65 next week.

"That's how it goes, one day it will go away too," she said.

Wednesday's shock was visible although less serious than the first episode of June.

On this occasion, she appeared unstable and trembled as she stood in the midday sun alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom she welcomed with military honors.

This first shock was attributed to dehydration. But a second episode struck a week later, late June, just hours before boarding a plane for the G20 summit in Japan.
