Two police officers were injured after being attacked by angry youths in Paboase, in the Western Region, who were protesting against a local mining company in the area.
According to police who confirmed the unfortunate incident at MyNewsGh.com on Friday, March 15, 2019, at approximately 6:30 am, the Divisional Police Command learned that youth from Paboase, a large mining community, had blocked the main road between and Ntetreso preventing minors from going to work.
The division commander therefore mobilized six members of his division to convince them to eliminate the barricade and allow free movement of vehicles.
During the process, two police officers identified as General Sergeant Yankey and Lance Corporal Baba Ali were seriously injured and the rear screen of the Nissan Navara police vehicle was broken.
