The director general of Krachi West District, in the Oti region, who was forced to leave his office Tuesday by an angry young man from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), called for the arrest of his aggressors.

The young man claimed that the WFD was working against the interests of the NPP and that since his appointment he has done practically nothing to help the party.

They petitioned the NPP leaders in the region and also accused the DCE of not enjoying the privileges of party members and the community.

They also accused him of making unilateral decisions affecting the party.

The DCE, Osei-Nti Douglas, while recounting his ordeal, told Citi News that he had formally filed a police complaint about this incident.

"About five people, six guys used their leg to knock on my door, came in and surrounded me next to my table. They also took my two cell phones and asked me to choose between life and death. So I asked them why and they replied that they were ready for no hbadle … I thank God for being still alive … I filed an official complaint to the police . I want the law to follow its course. Maybe invite or stop [the culprits]. "

The group, calling themselves "NPK-worried young people," dragged the DCE out of his office and sentenced him to what he described as "incompetent leadership" and "deliberate refusal" of to defend the interests of the NPP in the region.

The youngster said that the DCE, Mr. Osei-Nti Douglas, since his appointment, had done very little to maintain the fate of the district nuclear power plant located in the new Oti region.

Mr Nsekolente Amos, who presented the petition on behalf of the group, also accused Mr Osei-Nti of corrupt practices.

"The WFD has been cautious and has paid a sum of 116,000 GHc to a person under the name of court debt. He was overtaxed by the Office of the Auditor General, but it was understood that he would not pay, "the group said.

The group claimed that Mr. Osei-Nti operated a landing beach called "Brukutu landing beach", through which he would sell illegally premixed fuel and pocket this money against the regulations in force.

The group has also accused the DCE of having acted arrogantly since his appointment and not availing himself of the businessmen who come to invest in the region.

The group also alleged that a mechanic had also seized a Nissan patrol car used by Mr. Osei-Nti because of non-payment of his maintenance.

The group said the actions of the WFD caused "the disaffection and apathy of the party in the region", hence its call for his dismissal.
