Anne Hathaway ran into the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestants for Friday’s “Rusical” musical episode and managed to spill “tea” while she was there (virtually).

The actress, who has musical experience of her time on “Les Misérables” was there to offer wise advice to the candidates. When asked if she ever “had to fight tooth and nail” for any of her roles, she revealed she was the “ninth pick” for her now iconic role of Andy Sachs in “The Devil. wears Prada ”.

“But I got it,” she said triumphantly. “Hang in there. Never (snap) give (snap) up (snap)!”

You can watch Hathaway’s appearance on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” below.

In an interview with Variety in 2016, the star said she left a note after the meeting with Carla Hacken, former executive vice president of 20th Century Fox, in the hopes of leaving a lasting impression. The actress traced the words “hire me” in the sand of a Zen garden.

The studio would have liked to choose a bigger star for the role. Their first choice, according to Variety, was Rachel McAdams. After Choices 1-8 didn’t work out for the studio, they brought in Hathaway.

“I was putting on a shirt,” the actress told Variety when she found out she had landed the role. “I had friends. I remember running into my living room, half dressed, screaming – I got ‘The devil wears Prada!’ I have “The devil wears Prada”! “

It was her first lead role in a movie that targeted mature audiences rather than the family-made movies she was previously in (Hathaway had starred in “The Princess Diaries” and “Ella Enchanted” before playing alongside Meryl Streep.)

Streep, who starred as Miranda Priestly, editor of fictional magazine Runway, was offered the role immediately, according to Variety, but chose to negotiate for the first time in her career.

“The offer was in my opinion mildly, if not insulting, perhaps not reflecting my real value to the project,” Streep told Variety. “There was my ‘farewell moment’ and then they doubled the offer. I was 55 and had just learned, at a very late date, how to do it for myself.
