Anne Hathaway stops drinking because she has made her unavailable for her son

Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway revealed that she had stopped drinking because it made her "unavailable" for her son.

The 36-year-old star of Devil Wears Prada thinks that if she did not find the glory, she would eventually become an alcoholic, and said the drinking sessions left her hangover for five days.

Now she has promised not to touch another drop for the next 18 years while raising her son Jonathan, three, with her husband Adam Shulman.

"I feel like a traitor, my problem is that I love it, so a lot," she told Tatler of her attitude towards alcohol.

"But my way of life makes me unavailable for my son, and my last hangover lasted five days."

Admitting that she was never a glbad of wine, she said that daytime sessions would continue often in the evening.

The last time she got drunk, she said, "I deserved it: it was a day of drinking with friends preparing for an evening birthday party with one of my drinking friends. .

"I will never be that person who can drink a glbad of wine for a whole evening."

Anne added, "I could have seen myself become a teacher, or enter the army, or be a kind of benefactor with a desire for death." .

"But more than anything else, I would have been an alcoholic."
