The nominees for the US edition of the GUBA Awards were announced on Thursday at the United Nations in New York.

The GUBA Awards are designed to reward, celebrate the excellence and innovation of African people and organizations in the diaspora and Africa, working for the progress, empowerment and progress of the African diaspora community.

After the success of GUBA UK over the past decade, GUBA Enterprise has expanded internationally and established itself in the United States to highlight the diaspora within this pantheon community.

This year, the GUBA Awards Ceremony will also focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the theme: "The African Diaspora as a Catalyst for Growth and Innovation".

In addressing the theme, the awards will focus on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, at strengthen global partnerships to achieve the ambitious goals of the 2030 Agenda.
