We are here at TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2018, with the latest batch of Startup Battlefield companies. Each year, TechCrunch selects a number of innovative startups to participate in the Startup Battlefield Contest – TechCrunch's first global startup contest. Startups are fighting for the famous Disrupt Cup and a grand prize without fairness of 50 000 USD.
The teams have been training hard for several weeks with the editorial teams of Startup Battlefield and TechCrunch, perfecting their presentation, business models and live demonstrations. Each team will have exactly 6 minutes to present on the main stage a public and a world livestream. The founders will then face an intense question-and-answer session with our panel of expert judges from the industry and VC. Today's top companies will once again participate in the last round of Startup Battlefield on Friday in front of a new jury.
This year's Startup Battlefield at Disrupt Berlin features exceptional startups. You'll hear about companies changing the way they communicate with innovative audio technologies, database encryption, and even automated diabetes management applications. The founders are removing the barriers in connected cars, accessible technology for people with disabilities, the blockchain framework and even a new design platform in augmented reality without code. By giving refugees a secure identity, by creating a new model for government decision-making, these Startup Battlefield teams are about to change the face of technology in their industries.
