Another suspect was discovered in connection with the kidnapping of Takoradi's three daughters, according to Interior Minister Ambrose Dery.

"We have selected a second suspect and the investigation is under way," he said in a Citi News update.

It is unclear what information led to the arrest of this suspect, but Mr Dery said that the main suspect in the kidnappings, Samuel UdoetukWills, had begun to cooperate with the investigators.

"You know that since the beginning of the investigation, there was a time when the suspect was not talking but now the suspect is talking and we are doing everything in our power to make sure we get the information. "

Cynthia Morrison, Minister Responsible for Protection of the Status of Women and Social Welfare, also revealed that Samuel UdoetukWills had badured that the girls had not been killed.

She met with the Nigerian High Commissioner to get help for the security service as part of the investigation process.

"The suspect being a Nigerian, I asked the High Commissioner to accompany me and she is willing to do so. He has given his support and has already delegated his people to go to Takoradi to meet the relevant authorities. We discussed how we can talk to the suspect in his or her mother tongue. This may make him more open to the High Commissioner than he will to any of us. "

A team of investigators from the United Kingdom and the United States of America is also in the country to help the Ghana police search for girls.

The girls were identified as Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie.

The girls disappeared between August and December 2018.

The CID official said the case investigation team had been strengthened and had badured families to redouble their efforts to rescue the girls.

Fifteen people were also arrested in the eastern region after the abduction of three girls in the western region.

The suspects were roundly badembled by the regional command of Manya Krobo Municipality, in the lower part of the eastern region.
