Manchester United striker Anthony Martial will earn £ 250,000 a week as part of his new five and a half year contract that he signed Thursday at Old Trafford.
The French finally ended months of speculation about his future by writing with United, who was suspected of wanting to go out after turning a blind eye to his former head coach. José Mourinho.
Although the ink on Of martial the contract is not even dry yet, Sky sports revealed that the salary of the 23-year-old had almost quadrupled as part of his new long-term contract.
Martial was earning £ 75,000 a week as part of his latest club deal, which he had signed by joining the AS Monaco club in 2015. From now on, the Frenchman will earn a quarter of a million a week although he is always behind Alexis Sánchez and Paul Pogba in the list of the best employees of the club.
Martial's new deal runs until 2024 but, as with his last contract, Manchester United may extend the agreement for another year by a clause.
Despite the start of the new season with what appeared to be half the team less than a year before leaving Old Trafford with a free transfer, Manchester United now has only a handful of players who could go to the end of the campaign.
David De Gea and Ashley Young should both follow in Martial 's footsteps by extending their contract, although the latter only benefits from a one year extension due to a new club policy regarding players to 30 years.
Club Captain Antonio Valencia should however be one of the few players who finish their career with Manchester United this summer. The 33-year-old would feel like he could no longer meet the club's demands. on the ground and will look to pbad at the end of this year.
