Anti-polio campaign to kick off Monday at PK – Pakistan

PESHAWAR: A three-day anti-polio campaign will begin tomorrow in twenty-five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the provincial health department, about 2.5 million children under five will receive the polio vaccine during the campaign.

More than twenty-seven thousand teams have been formed and will go door to door to ensure the delivery of anti-polio drops to each child.

Anti-polio teams will also be available at bus stops, railway stations, Afghan refugee camps and other public places to administer the polio vaccine.

Similarly, an anti-polio vaccination campaign for all ages will also be launched at the Pakistan border in Torkham starting tomorrow to eradicate the circulation of the polio virus between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Strict security measures have been taken for the safety of the polio teams.
