Anti-vaxxers: a "threat" to global health

The World Health Organization has published a report that people who choose not to vaccinate their children are now considered a "global threat to health".

"Vaccine hesitation – reluctance or refusal to vaccinate despite availability of vaccines – threatens to reverse progress in fighting vaccine-preventable diseases," says the website of the World Health Organization.

The report says that one can report the growing number of measles cases in the country. It was considered eliminated by the United States in 2000. In 2018, the WMAZ, affiliated with the CBS, reported 349 individual cases of measles in 26 states and in the District of Columbia.

A report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that, although most children receive the recommended vaccinations, the number of people who are not vaccinated before 24 months is gradually increasing.
