The transfer of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona could be canceled by La Liga, according to the president of the Spanish Air Division, Javier Tebas.
The winner of the French World Cup joined the Catalans earlier this month in a £ 107 million deal. He made his first appearance for them in the friendly 2-1 loss to Chelsea in Saitama.
But the decision was controversial. Atletico accused Barca of deliberately waiting for Griezmann's release clause to be lowered on 1 July before submitting an offer, even though they believe the agreement was reached before that date.
"It's possible to block the transfer of a player," Tebas told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
"La Liga will have to decide what course of action to take."

Explaining on Atletico's desire to continue the cancellation of the deal, Tebas said: "[Atletico] filed a complaint and questioned whether we should pbad the Griezmann license in Barcelona.
"A process has been put in place and those who supervise it will have to come to solve the case".

Griezmann would be about to join Barca last summer to announce that he was staying at Atletico in a video that he posted on social networks, titled "The Decision", which did not please Barca fans and some members of the board of directors.
He then announced that he would leave the club earlier this summer.
Barca's technical secretary, Eric Abidal, insists that it was only after this announcement that Barca proceeded with their move.

"Atletico Madrid is defending its interests and we are also doing so in Barcelona," said the former defender to Paris, via Marca.
"We have no prior agreement with the player.
"[Barcelona] contacted his entourage, including his lawyer, after Griezmann announced his intention to leave his old club.
"[Barcelona] President Bartomeu contacted Atletico to inquire about Griezmann's contractual terms and inform them that, if there were no negotiations, Barcelona would pay the release clause of 120 million euros. euros.
