Emmanuel Badu KobiThe prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi

Hajia Laadi Ayishetu Ayamba, a member of the Parliament's Committee in Parliament, condemned the ethnocentric remarks of the Chief Pastor of Glorious Wave Church International, the prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, and called on him to apologize.

This follows a violent reaction that greeted a viral video in which the preacher is heard, advising men in his congregation not to marry certain tribes because, according to his research, they are stupid, sleepy and intrinsically aware their money and impossible to get married.

"Fanti women are sometimes stupid and sheep are also mats. But for women Ashanti no! … If you marry an Ashanti lady, you have imported the problem for yourself forever. I have researched and it is true and I will never marry an Ashanti woman … ", said the Prophet Badu Kobi to members of his church.

Many Ghanaians reprimanded the Prophet for his explosion, the latest being the Women's Caucus in Parliament.

Hajia Ayamba, who is also a member of the Pusiga Parliament, commented on the Prophet's statement in an interview with Clbad News, calling it "unacceptable".

"What he said is not acceptable, it was a general statement, ambiguous, it's not fair, not even to women, but even to the tribes he mentioned. You can not group people and just say what you mean, even if there are individual differences, "said Hajia Ayamba.

She continued, "Whatever you think of a particular tribe or women of one tribe in particular, it does not mean that it applies to everyone, which is unacceptable and that they are women, so we condemn it unequivocally because a woman is a woman and we are all women, whatever their tribe.

"We do not have to accept the kind of things he said. A woman is getting married for love, not necessarily for property, and I think we women should condemn it in its entirety and ask her to apologize. "

At the same time, the prophet Badu Kobi said that he remained unruffled in the face of the reaction.
