Bishop Jean-Marie Speich, Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana
congratulated the level of religious tolerance in the country and urged
Ghanaians to maintain the peaceful existence of religions.
He was of the opinion
Ghana's religious tolerance was a model to follow because it had
guaranteed freedoms that have strengthened the rights of the people.
Archbishop Speich does
known Monday when he called President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to
the Jubilee House in Accra to bid him farewell after a mission of almost six years
from Ghana.

The Apostolic Nuncio
who recalled the cordiality with which the Ghanaian people and their colleague
diplomats told him during his stay in the country, said he was saddened
that he left behind all this warmth and friendship.
"I was there five
years and a half and had the opportunity to know your country better,
and better diplomats here in your country and had the time to understand
know and appreciate your culture and also the time to find good Ghanaians
friends, "he told the president.
Bishop Speich said
he was humble and particularly grateful to have had the opportunity to meet
President Akufo-Addo to discuss important issues when he took office
Ghanaian leader in 2017, saying the meeting "has demonstrated the excellent
relations that existed between the Republic of Ghana and the Holy Sea ".
He said the decision
of the pope to send a cardinal to Ghana's 60th birthday was to honor the
President and the Ghanaians and strengthened the cordial relations between Ghana and
the holy sea.
"It was a
very good time, and I want to thank you for your clarity and for your
friendship, "he told President Akufo-Addo.
The Apostolic Nuncio
congratulated the President on deepening Ghana's democratic culture,
describing the country as a pivot of the African continent, urging others
countries to learn from these achievements.
He also congratulated the
President for development projects across the country and for his vision
and zeal to improve Ghana's socio-economic fortunes.
President Akufo-Addo
for its part noted the huge and priceless contributions of the Catholic Church
to the spiritual and socio-economic development of Ghana and recognized
the crucial support of the Catholic Church for the democratic process of Ghana giving
Government's commitment to the ongoing development of democracy in the
country.
"We are
determined to build a new Ghana in accordance with the rule of law, respect for
human rights and individual freedom, as well as the principle of democracy
responsibility.
All this, he says
were the foundations and foundations of a prosperous Ghana – a Ghana beyond
