It should be noted however that Cook has defended this position vehemently because Apple has failed with its competing product of Google and Facebook advertising services.
For Apple, the gesture of Apple does not only mean bad press, but also a decline and uncertainty in the evolution of its products. Facebook has always been known for its speed of development, such a forced shutdown is catastrophic for the company.
