Before the public launch of Apple TV +, later this year, Apple hired a former Walt Disney executive to join his video team. According to a report by BloombergApple hired Chiara Cipriani from Disney as she stepped up her video efforts.

Cipriani joined Apple earlier this month as the company's director of video services at its London office. Before joining Apple this month, Cipriani spent more than 10 years at Disney. She most recently held the position of vice president of Disney + International. Prior to that, she held the position of Executive Director of Disney's online direct sales activities, as well as roles in content development and distribution.
Chiara Cipriani started at Apple as director of video services earlier this month in London, according to her LinkedIn biography, after about a decade at Disney. Previously, she worked for the new Disney + service and ran DisneyLife, her international predecessor.
Apple and Disney are poised to become major competitors in the video streaming industry with the launch of Apple TV + and Disney + this fall. Disney + will be available for $ 7 a month and includes access to almost all of Disney's libraries. Apple TV + tariffs remain unclear, but Apple is building its content library from scratch.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has been on Apple's board of directors since 2011. While some are wondering if Iger will keep this seat while Disney and Apple become competitors, Iger said last month that he intends to stay Apple's board and let him go, at least in the near future.
Apple has recruited many experienced TV executives for its global video team, led by former Sony Television executives Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg. Last month, Apple hired a former A + E executive to head its documentaries. WGN, Channel 4 and others have also hired notable personalities.
