An interesting option in the System Preferences of the new iMac lineup launched yesterday has led to the speculation that Apple might be working on a new wireless keyboard with backlit keys. Backlit keyboards are currently a luxury that only MacBook Pro users can enjoy.
In the System Preferences keyboard menu, users have the ability to "illuminate the keyboard in low light conditions". Without an Apple wireless keyboard equipped with a backlight, this preference obviously has no use. This suggests that if Apple did not make a rare mistake with a code, they were currently working on a new new keyboard in the Cupertino camp.
Using a MacBook Pro with a backlit keyboard in low light conditions is really extremely useful, and I would be the first in line for a backlit keyboard for my desktop.
