According to the Wall Street Journal, technology giant Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs to launch a new credit card. The computer company is apparently looking to tap into new sources of revenue with the fall in smartphone sales.
The US newspaper reports that Apple will start issuing the card to its employees in a few weeks.
The company currently offers electronic settlement services using credit cards issued by other companies. But Apple hopes to receive more commissions when it starts issuing its own cards.
The paper indicates that the card will be paired with the iPhone and will allow users to set their spending goals, track their rewards and manage their balances.
Apple has seen a drop in sales of iPhones, its main product. It was also reported that the company would soon start streaming video services online.
