Apple strengthens its position in video marketing before the launch of its streaming service this fall.
The technology giant has hired Danielle DePalma, Lionsgate veteran, as senior executive of the marketing team responsible for film and television projects. The executive, formerly Lionsgate's global vice president of digital marketing and research, will report to video marketer Chris Van Amburg, who joined Apple in September.
On March 25, Apple announced that its streaming service, dubbed Apple TV +, will be launched this fall and will host a selection of original shows such as: The morning show, with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and See, starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard. Prices and an exact launch date have yet to be revealed.
DePalma, who was appointed to The Hollywood ReporterThe 2010 Next Gen list has earned a reputation for creating forward-thinking Web campaigns for Lionsgate projects such as Viewed and Kick bad.
DePalma and Van Amburg are joining an increasing number of Hollywood executives who have worked for Apple over the past two years to work under world video leaders Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht. Their team also includes creative development manager Matt Cherniss, head of international development development Morgan Wandell, and current and unwritten program director Kim Rozenfeld.
