Some Arklatex schools are forced to close because of the flu.
Clbades were canceled for the rest of the week in Horatio, AR. According to officials, more than 300 students were sick Tuesday. Schools will reopen on Monday, February 4th.
At Caddo Parish, Jack P. Timmons will be closed Wednesday and Thursday. It will reopen on Friday, January 1st.
The school district said that a monitoring team would spend the time cleaning up the school. Families are advised not to allow their children to return to school until the fever has been reached for at least 24 hours.
In Texas, the independent Avery School District closed Tuesday due to influenza and upper respiratory diseases. District officials say that they disinfected the school. Schools will reopen on Wednesday.
In addition, the independent school district DeKalb closed on Monday to allow students to return Tuesday.
