Armed robbers kill a customs officer, another at a checkpoint in Huhunya

Three (3) people reportedly died Saturday in Huhunya, Yilo Krobo Municipality, in the east of the country.

The deceased, a customs badistant, Atama Padi, and a motorcyclist, Jerry, were allegedly shot and killed to death by suspected armed thieves with the aim of arresting them for stealing goats.

The other deceased, suspected of being one of the alleged thieves, was reportedly also beaten and burned to death by angry residents there.

Reliable sources available on this portal reveal that thieves, about six people, had stolen the goats from Klo Agogo and that according to reports the deceased had tried to arrest them at a checkpoint.

Arrived at the gate, the alleged thieves tried to cross the closed door, but failed and fled.

The thieves, in a Toyota Corolla bearing the registration number GW 4151-19 that was burned, killed the two dead who had tried to track them down.

The incident thus prompted residents who allegedly badaulted one of the suspects, who was arrested and then burned and the car burned.

Meanwhile, the other suspects hid while the deceased's bodies were dropped off at the morgue for further investigation.
