A Chinese national undertaking the project A District, A Factory was killed by armed robbers at Asuboi, in the Ayensuano district, in the East region.
The body of the deceased, Song Zhao Sheng, 58, was deposed at the morgue of the government hospital in Suhum.
Starr News has learned that a gang of armed thieves attacked an apartment in which some seven Chinese were living under the One District project, One Factory, and stole them at gunpoint.
Eyewitnesses testified that the victim was beaten on the back of the head with a block of cement by thieves after trying to resist thieves.
The victim, who was bleeding from the nose, was declared dead when a team of police patrols rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital.
The police team swept the scene to try to stop the suspects, but it proved futile.
Police said thieves were leaving with seven mobile phones, 15,000 Chinese Yen, 37,000 Ghc and a laptop.
Sergeant Francis Gomado, deputy public relations officer of the East Region Police Command, confirmed the incident at Starr News, claiming that an investigation was underway.
