Cardiff midfielder Aron Gunnarsson will join Al-Arabi at the end of the season, at the end of his contract.
The 29-year-old has signed a one-year extension after being promoted to the Premier League last year, but will now move to the Qatar Stars League.
The Icelandic captain will participate in a two-year contract and will join his former international boss, Heimir Hallgrímsson.
Gunnarsson is currently the oldest player in the Bluebird, having played 278 games, scoring 25 goals.
He has played in 20 of the 30 Premier League games this season, scoring once against the Wolves in November.
