Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Calls on the Ghana police to immediately arrest and bring to justice the founder and leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministries International, Isaac Owusu-Bempah, for allegedly attacking Mugabe Maase and Radio XYZ staff, a private radio station based in Accra.
The Association says it will deter him (Owusu Bempah), his appointees and other like-minded people from behaving in the same way in the future.
This comes after Owusu-Bempah stormed Radio XYZ's studios with gunmen in search of Mugabe Maase, host and presenter, who physically badaulted him.

The Ghana Association of Journalists (GJA) is appalled by reports of physical attacks against some police personnel. XYZ Radio, a private radio station based in Accra, by the founder and leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministries International, Isaac Owusu-Bempah. We unreservedly condemn the action of Owusu-Bempah and call on the police to arrest him immediately and bring him to justice.
Last Friday, March 15, 2019, Owusu-Bempah reportedly stormed the premises of the radio station in the company of four thugs armed with weapons in search of a presenter of the radio station . In doing so, he and his armed cohorts allegedly abused the administrator and other staff of the radio station.
The attack on XYZ Radio exactly four months after Owusu-Bempah reportedly vandalized studio equipment at Hot FM, another radio station based in Accra. Appearing in a news program on the station on December 13, 2018, he reportedly vandalized the studio equipment. The GJA wishes to take this opportunity to reiterate its appeal to members and other media professionals in general not to be intimidated by deviants of the rule of law who might want to use violence as a weapon to quell freedom of the press. We have a constitutional mandate to fulfill and we must do it without fear or favor.
However, we advise journalists and other media professionals to maintain high professional standards at all times and strive to be the companion of the truth. Our vocation is to report the truth as pure as it is and not to mingle the truth with derogatory, insulting or provocative remarks. Nevertheless, nothing justifies the conduct of Owusu-Bempah.
