"There are still a lot of challenges in Ajax and I'm having a good time here," Overmars said.
"We are taking action both with the youth academy and the first team and we still want to show a lot."
Arsenal is still looking for a replacement for Sven Mislintat after the departure of the head of recruitment in February.
The North London club was linked to Monchi, who stepped down as Roma's football manager this month.
