Arsenal and Manchester United have increased their chances of placing in the top four with Premier League victories this weekend, but Chelsea had another setback.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will be among the top three players, unless there is a total collapse in the next two months – the order remains to be seen – leaving the other trio in contention for the last place in the Champions League.
Before the matches this weekend, Maurizio Sarri's men were fourth with two points ahead of the Red Devils and three over their London rivals, but everything is changing now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men traveled to Fulham on Saturday during the kickoff of the lunch break. They came back to fourth place with a 3-0 win at Craven Cottage, giving them a lead over the Blues before heading to Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Gunners tied points with the West London squad thanks to a 2-1 win at Huddersfield Town, though they remained in sixth place due to the fact that they were in the lead. a lower goal difference.
However, having come full-time to Manchester, the Unai Emery team had won a spot after Chelsea's 6-0 defeat against City and both teams have exactly the same goal difference.
There will surely be a lot of twists in the coming weeks and there is no doubt that the teams will change places several times by May.
In terms of the matches to come, Arsenal has a very good end of the season, although three difficult games await him in March with Spurs, United and Wolves on the program.
Chelsea will face the Lilywhites before the end of the month, with trips out to Anfield and Old Trafford, then coming in April, as the first four places really start to heat up.
Manchester United are facing four of the top six in their last 12 games, but they have an advantage with the Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea matches taking place at Old Trafford.
