Laurent Koscielny has reached a personal agreement with Rennes as he continues to press for an Arsenal departure this summer.
Frenchman Koscielny has made more than 350 appearances for Arsenal since joining the club from Lorient in 2010 and was named club captain after the retirement of Per Mertesacker last year.
Despite his position, the defender refused to travel with Arsenal during his pre-season tour of the United States, preferring to stay in London to force a summer transfer.
Koscielny has the heart to return to France. Bordeaux, Rennes and Lyon are among the clubs interested in providing services in the coming weeks.

According to the French RMC outlet, Rennes is in command to sign Koscielny after agreeing to personal conditions with the 33-year-old player during a summer exchange.
Rennes finished tenth in Ligue 1 last season and is driven by the highly esteemed Julien Stéphan.
The situation left Arsenal shocked and furious as club captain Koscielny has another year on the contract.
Former boss Arsene Wenger, who signed with Koscielny nearly 10 years ago, admits he is "very surprised" by the situation in north London.
"I am very surprised by the current situation," Wenger told The Team.
"I do not know the whole story, but Laurent's behavior with me has always been irreproachable, I think a lot about Laurent as a man."
Current manager, Unai Emery, meanwhile said that three players had a chance to be named as the next Arsenal captain.
Even if Koscielny does not manage to impose a summer change, he will probably be dismissed as captain before the start of next season.

Emery said, "We talked a bit about it. Last year, we had Laurent, Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey.
"For the moment, Koscielny has a contract with us, but we will talk to the club and tell him if he will continue or not.
"We have players with the ability [to be captain]we are Granit, he was captain in the cloakroom. We have others like Mesut, Nacho.
"There are other players who can take this position too, I want between three and five captains on the team."
