Nicolas Tagliafico scored a humiliating goal for Ajax during an otherwise routine victory of the Eredivisie leaders against Emmen on Wednesday night.
The 5-2 win over Emmen, at the bottom of the standings, allowed Ajax to have a run-up over second-placed PSV Eindhoven, who played match less.
Arsenal is following Tagliafico this season while Unai Emery has established a list of backcountry capable of replacing Nacho Monreal.

Celtic star Kieran Tierney and Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell should also be considered, but Emery would be a big fan of Tagliafico.
Ajax values Tagliafico at around £ 17 million, but Arsenal fans will be reluctant to think the 26-year-old scored a disastrous goal against Emmen.
Without real pressure, Tagliafico returns the ball to his goalkeeper, but the speed of the pbad allows him to take his goal off guard.
Tagliafico shot the ball straight into his own net, but dismissed the error with a bit of agitation.
Arsenal already has a galaxy of defensive stars and Emery should make some changes in the summer.
If Arsenal qualifies for the Champions League, Emery aims to recruit at least five players in the next transfer window.
But if Arsenal finished again out of the first four places in the Premier League, Emery would have only 40 million pounds transfer.
