Arsenal planned to line up against Huddersfield before the shock of John Smith Stadium

Unai Emery is expected to make two changes to his starting lineup for the Arsenal trip to Huddersfield on Saturday.

Gunner Chief Emery was defeated by defending champion Manchester City in the 3-1 loss to Etihad last weekend.

But it is unlikely that the Spanish will make any in-depth changes against the Terriers threatened with relegation.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is expected to replace Stephan Lichtsteiner in the defense after the return of the academy graduate following a knee injury.

Maitland-Niles will probably be lined up at the back right with a back three of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal playing behind him.

The other change Emery should allow Aaron Ramsey to take the place of Alex Iwobi, while the Welsh should be at the forefront of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal also has Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Granit Xhaka on the team for the trip to Yorkshire.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles will likely support his return from injury

Mkhitaryan has not played since December due to a foot injury and Xhaka missed the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City due to a groin complaint.

The signing of the January loan, Denis Suarez, is ready for its debut, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Danny Welbeck (both ankles), Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding (both knees) remain apart, while Laurent Koscielny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should overcome the disease.

Arsenal likely XI vs Huddersfield: Leno; Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Maitland-Niles, Torreira, Guendouzi, Kolinisac; Ramsey; Lacazette, Aubameyang
