Arsenal has identified CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov as a potential candidate this summer, with Unai Emery wishing to strengthen his offensive options for next season.

The 21-year-old was the top scorer in the Russian Premier League last season, scoring 15 goals in 30 games and seven badists.

Chalov, who has been selected twice by the senior team of Russia, has also scored twice in the Champions League, including once in a 3-0 win against Real Madrid at Bernabeu in December.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal will face competition from Chalov from other major clubs, including Monaco and Seville.

Chalov made his debut in the first CSKA team during the 2016-17 season before declaring himself as a key member of the team during the next campaign.

After his outstanding performances at the club level, Chalov played his senior international debut for Russia against Belgium in March before playing against Kazakhstan a few days later.

Arsenal appears to be stepping up efforts to strengthen its squad for the new season, with several players linked to possible transfers to the UAE in recent days.

Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba, Sampdoria central defender Joachim Andersen and former River Plate winger Exequiel Palacios are all on Emery's transfer list.

Emery is looking to give more firepower to his team to lighten the scorers' burden on Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been predicted with a possible move to China.
