Arsenal faces late competition from AC Milan for the Belgian international Yannick Carrasco after the signing of Dennis Suarez.
Barcelona has confirmed the departure of Suarez, who had pbaded his medical exam Wednesday in London, before recording the news on their club's website, but the deal would have been concluded.
As with Suarez, Arsenal is trying to negotiate a loan for Carrasco on loan until the end of this season with an option to buy.
Arsenal had offered the Belgian international 25 years before the opening of the window, but the contract was ratified because Inter Milan should not allow Ivan Perisic to go on loan despite the transfer requests submitted by the Croatian. Inter had considered Carrasco a substitute for Perisic if they had sold him to Arsenal.
Carrasco is desperate to leave the Chinese club Dalian Yifang and return to Europe. It has been proposed to a number of clubs. Milan has also expressed interest. He confronts Arsenal and his former managing director, Ivan Gazidis, who has left them to badume the role of CEO in Milan.
