Arsenal has submitted an offer of 80 million euros in Lille for Nicolas Pepe, according to reports in France.

Unai Emery is looking for a new striker who plays mainly on the flanks and the club has already failed with a £ 40m bid for Wilfried Zaha, which was worth € 80 for Crystal Palace.

Pepe also matches the profile sought by Arsenal, but the 24-year-old has attracted the interest of several clubs after his impressive performance on the right of Lille last season.

The Ivorian international scored 22 goals in Ligue 1 and 11 badists, but lost to Kylian Mbappe for the division's Player of the Year award.

According to Telefoot, Arsenal has submitted a proposal for 80 million euros to Lille. This offer is currently being examined by the hierarchy of the French club.

The report also states that Pepe has not yet made a decision on his future, but that he would prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain, if it was available.

PSG has not yet made an offer but can intervene if Neymar is resold in Barcelona.

Pepe is now on vacation after Cote d 'Ivoire was eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations by Algeria on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Arsenal remains in William Saliba's signing run, but their decision could be overturned if Tottenham had submitted a higher bid for the Saint-Etienne central defender earlier this week.

Emery and his players are currently in the United States for the start of their pre-season tour and will start their campaign with a match against Colorado Rapids on Tuesday.
