Arsenal manager Unai Emery insists he is willing to be "patient" to engage players of comparable quality to William Saliba's, as he is not ready to settle for second choice.
Saliba had an outstanding season for Saint-Etienne in his last match, making 16 Ligue 1 appearances. The 18-year-old center-back would be on the verge of signing an agreement with Arsenal.
Tottenham was about to land Saliba earlier this summer, but Saint-Etienne President Bernard Caiazzo confirmed that the young man would sign for Arsenal before being loaned to him for the 2019/20 season.
