Arsenal transfer strategy: "Ozil out, this star of the Premier League" – Campbell – Love Sport Radio

Arsenal is unlikely to put Mesut Ozil at the center of his plans and former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell believes there is already a leader in the Premier League who could replace him.

Ozil signed a new contract in January 2018, making him the highest paid player of Arsenal and was named one of the club's vice-captains early this season.

But the German international has only started 20 of 38 Premier League matches this season and Arsenal has been repeatedly criticized by his coach, Unai Emery.

And the former Arsenal striker, Campbell, believes that Ozil will either be sold or replaced by Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser, the type of player who could replace him.

"I do not know if he's still there or not, but I can not see a team building around Mesut Ozil," said Campbell at the James Gray Show (Monday to Friday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm).

"We have two players in front of who made the difference and I think we should try to provide them because they can subtract the game from any team."

He added, "Ryan Fraser has a proven track record in Bournemouth, it could be said that it's only Bournemouth but many of these players are productive, he has a double badist and he has scored goals.

"If we had that production or half that production, we would have been in a Champions League place.

"Very often, people look at the names on the back of the shirt, and I do not think people should worry about it."

"We need players who want to be in the football club and who are really going to change things and Ryan Fraser, I would not be disappointed if Arsenal attacked him."

The Arsenal budget for this summer should be dictated by the outcome of the Europa League final tonight against Chelsea in Baku.

Victoire would bring the Gunners their first European trophy since winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1994 with Campbell in the starting lineup.

"I remember we were underdogs before the match and at the time, Parma had a fantastic team, they had [Gianfranco] Zola among others, they had a lot of quality players on their team and nobody gave us a chance, "added Campbell.

"We were very tough and we had a game plan and we decided to frustrate them and give them a nickname at the break.

"Sometimes we were lucky but we got there at the end.

"It was a fantastic trophy to win because it was the first time we came back to Europe and we could win a trophy, which has consolidated our club legacy."
