The Gunners will be deprived of the Gabon international when they face the Saints in a fourth-round draw this weekend
Mikel Arteta has revealed why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was not part of Arsenal’s squad to face Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Aubameyang was left out of Arteta’s final 20-man squad for the fourth round, with Eddie Nketiah stepping in to lead the line in his absence.
Arteta explained the reason for the Gabon international’s omission in a pre-match interview, telling reporters: “He had a personal affair the past few hours and we had to fire him.”
