Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has launched a $ 100 million development fund for the implementation of a ten-year development plan for the Ashanti region.
The fund, an initiative of the Asante Professionals Club, a group of young businessmen and women from Asante, is expected to contribute to the implementation of the plan to complement the government's efforts to develop the region.
The plan was developed by the club under the patronage of Asantehene.
The club is expected to raise at least $ 30 million by 2020 to address some of the region's development challenges.

He challenged the club to use its human resources to solicit international funding to help young people in areas such as agriculture and education.

About 20 Ghanaians, mainly Asante, were recognized and rewarded at the gala evening attended by high dignitaries, including the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Joe Osei Owusu.

At the same time, the club is helping to train 20,000 students, mostly from higher education institutions, to build their capacity for the job market.
