Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, unveiled a 10-year plan to transform the city of Kumasi.

The plan also includes an initiative to industrialize the local economy to create jobs and create wealth in the city.

The cost of projects in the plan is estimated at about $ 400 million and comes mainly from the private sector.

Amoaman 's leader, Nana Agyenim Boateng, revealed that Asanteman' s traditional board will use stool pitches as leverage for the completion of projects.

He made this known when he spoke to Luv News on the sidelines of a meeting with business executives in Kumasi.

About five of these projects have been designated as key elements of the development program.

They include the rejuvenation of the Kumasi jute plant and the establishment of a mango processing plant to be located in Sabin Akrofuom on the main road from Kumasi to Obuasi.

Already, Offinso farmers are encouraged to adopt kenaf culture as a raw material for the jute plant.

Mango farms owned by Asantehene will initially feed the proposed processing plant.

Other areas to explore include a Kente development project at Bonwire, support for metal fabrication at Suame Magazine, and recycling of waste into energy.

Nana Agyenim Boateng said the Ghanaian Exim Bank is a key partner in the proposed projects.

In order to reduce the accommodation difficulties, especially for students, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also wants private investors to help explore the hosting services in the campuses of the University of Science and technologies Kwame Nkrumah (KNUST).

A children's park, a modern car park and a terminal are also being considered as part of efforts to decongest the central business district of Kumasi.

Nana Agyenim Boateng is optimistic that the program, after its implementation, will help to improve the region.
