Asawase youth use Nollywood style to choose forms from a Muntaka competitor

Fatiu Salihu, head of the group, explained that they had to be protected by the police to be able to choose the application forms of a candidate, Masawudu Mubarak.

According to them, the party leaders defeated any attempt to select a form to challenge the incumbent, adding that they had to visit the party's regional office twice before obtaining forms.

Salihu says a Facebook post from regional secretary Kwame Zu has published a list of candidates who are excluding their contender, Masawudu Mubarak.

"They knew that there could be this kind of intimidation at this constituency level. So we planned that, if necessary, we would have to convince them to seek redress at the regional level.

"We were so surprised that they were not doing as well as the regional leaders, less well than the riding leaders. We did not know that it was a plot of some regional leaders who had promised Mr. Muntaka [incumbent] they will not allow anyone to challenge it, "he said.

He wants party leaders at the national level to find solutions to the problem in order to protect the image of the CND before the general elections of 2020.

Mr. Salihu said such disagreements at the regional level could be blamed on the chaos in the Ashanti regional office that resulted in the death of one person.

"Wherever there is a disunity, anything is possible, the leaders must intervene and avoid further chaos," he pleaded.
