Christian Agyei, who served as a servant to the deceased, was arrested Monday by the police as the main suspect.

He appeared for the first time in court on Thursday without a lawyer. He has not yet been charged with a possible murder.

Prosecutors requested Thursday to be allowed to order that body fluids, footprints, fingerprints and a sperm exchange from the suspect be subjected to a laboratory test as part of the investigation.

The district court chaired by Ms. Akosua Anokyewaa Adjeipong granted the request and placed the accused in custody so that the investigation could be completed.

They must appear again in court on January 31st.

The deceased was found stabbed Sunday at her home at Emef Estate, Afienya, near Tema.

The 49-year-old mother lived in her house with her son and a servant at the time of the incident.
