Daniel Asiedu is the first accused in the murder trial of the late JB Danquah
The lawyers for Daniel Asiedu, one of the people accused of the murder of JB Danquah, claim the full report of his client's mental examination.
According to them, this will give the court a clear idea of what was in the medical report that said their client was mentally fit to stand trial.
The defense team is also asking for certain personal documents, such as the birth certificate and the medical officer's pbadport, Sammy Ohene, which they claim to have different identities.
Daniel Asiedu underwent a psychiatric examination to determine his mental capacity to stand trial after his lawyers had raised issues of mental instability.
According to them, they think their client might be suffering from a mental illness due to some of the comments and behaviors that he has been showing since the beginning of the case.
Lead counsel Augustine Obour recounted an incident when his client called him to ask him to serve drinks at his coronation as a chef in Akuapem.
The accused is on trial with the alleged accomplice Vincent Bossu for murder and conspiracy to commit robbery after allegedly murdering JB Danquah-Adu at his residence in Shiashie, near Accra, on February 9 2016.
