ASton Villa should sign with Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton after signing a £ 8 million deal last night.
Heaton is to undergo a medical examination at Villa within the next 48 hours after accepting an improved offer for the English international.
Dean Smith, the Villa's head coach, is determined to bring another goaltender this summer and Heaton will be leaving Turf Moor after a six-year spell.
It is understood that the fees are £ 8 million, with a modest increase of £ 500,000.
Heaton, 33, played the first half of Burnley's 6-1 win over Nice in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
It is on the verge of becoming Villa's 12th signing this summer, following the club's Premier League promotion.
Smith had also envisioned Stoke's Cardby Buthey and Cardiff's Neil Etheridge, but Heaton's signature, which was still less than a year from Burnley's contract, would be considered a smart purchase.
Wonderful Nakamba, the Zimbabwean international, is also about to complete its £ 11 million move in the coming days, subject to a medical examination and a visa.
