Atletico Madrid plans to file a lawsuit against Barcelona for suing Antoine Griezmann, reports said.
El Larguero, a radio program broadcast on the main Spanish channel Cadena SER, announced that the Wanda Metropolitano club would intensify its complaints against its rivals La Liga.
Griezmann, who chose to stay at Atletico Madrid last summer after a long saga of transfers, has announced plans to leave the Spanish capital in a video message last month.
Although the move to Barcelona has not been confirmed yet, he is expected to make the long-awaited change to Camp Nou.
It was claimed that Griezmann had started trading with the Catalan giants in November and had signed an agreement in March, before Atletico Madrid was eliminated from the Champions League by Juventus.
It is alleged that Atletico Madrid has documentary evidence that proves it, which encourages them to take steps to study the information and to determine how it can take formal measures.
Griezmann signed a lucrative contract extension last summer, which included a release clause of 200 million euros.
But this figure is expected to drop to 120 million euros as a result of a new July 1 agreement clause, after which Barcelona would formally sign the French star.
This decision was recently questioned by rumors that the Barcelona stars wanted to veto the proposal after being unhappy with Griezmann's conduct last summer.
And it seems that Atletico is also unhappy with how the saga unfolded since he negotiated with his rivals at a time when their campaign was still alive and well.
Fearing that the Barcelona movement will pbad, Manchester United is among those on red alert and monitoring the situation for a move.
