Atletico Madrid has finalized the signing of the international English right back Kieran Trippier of Tottenham, thus ending his four-year stay in North London.
The 28-year-old would have joined Atletico Madrid for a three-year contract for an initial amount of £ 20 million plus surcharges, and would replace Juanfran in the eleventh match of Diego Simeone.
In a statement to Tottenham, it reads: "We have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Kieran Trippier.
"The right-back has left us since Burnley in the summer of 2015 and made 114 appearances in all competitions.
"We wish Kieran all the best for the future."

Atletico said in an article on its website: "The Englishman is a versatile back who can also play in the middle of the field and has a fantastic right foot.
For all these reasons, we welcome Trippier to the Atleti family and wish him the best of luck in his new home. Welcome, Kieran! '
Trippier began his career in Manchester City before embarking on spells with Barnsley, Burnley and Spurs, whom he joined for £ 3.5m in 2015.
After Kyle Walker's departure from Manchester City in 2017, Trippier has emerged as the right-hand favorite of Mauricio Pochettino.
Despite a difficult season, Trippier started the Spurs' 2-0 defeat by Liverpool in the Champions League final in what turned out to be his last appearance for the club in his new stadium.

He became the club's seventh rookie after Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente, Felipe, Renan Lodi, Ivan Saponjic and Hector Herrera, for a total of £ 190m.
According to reports, the Spurs are not planning to sign a new right-back and will remain with Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth as options next season.
