President Akufo-Addo
President Nana Akufo-Addo said the killings of 49 people in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand "are a stark reminder of the threat terrorism poses to all the peoples of the world".
In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 16, 2019, the President of Ghana expressed sympathy for the bereaved families and the New Zealand government as he urged the world to unite and fight terrorism.
"We must fight together against all atrocities that are motivated by a distorted understanding of religion or ideology," said Akufo-Addo.
Meanwhile, the main suspect, Australian Brenton Tarrant, aged 28, was remanded by a court and will be appearing again on April 5, 2019.
Two other suspects were also arrested by the police as part of the shooting.
