In the meantime, Pakistan has recalled its Delhi ambbadador to consultations in a context of growing tension.
India recalled its top diplomat from Pakistan following Thursday's attack, in which he said the Pakistani state was complicit.
Pakistan refuses any role in the attack, which would have been claimed by a group based on its soil, Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Police said two militants trapped in the village of Pulwama were killed during Monday's operation.
Heavy fire has been heard and Indian security officials are asking villagers to stay inside.
Police told BBC Urdu that when they fired "warning shots" at the house in Pinglena village where militants were hiding, they fired back. A badly injured policeman was taken to the hospital.
The owner of the house was killed during the exchange of fire, the police added.
