John Attafuah, General Manager of the Ghana Airport Company (GAC), was removed from office with immediate effect.

Mr. Attafuah succeeded Charles Asare in March 2017.

Sources said that Aviation Minister Joseph Kofi Adda had ordered Attafuah to hand over to his deputy, Yaw Kwakwa, pending the appointment of a political director.

DAILY GUIDE ensured that Mr. Adda signed the MD's letter of revocation on January 16, 2019.

However, contrary to what some media reported yesterday, the direction of the Ghana Airport Company, according to the verifications of DAILY GUIDE, has not been dissolved.

The source of this diary at the Ministry of Aviation confirmed that the committee, chaired by Oboshie Sai-Coffie, is still in office.

The source of DAILY GUIDE revealed that the Ghana Airport Company's board of directors would meet and issue a statement on Mr. Attafuah's dismissal in due course.

Prior to his appointment to the Ghana Airport Company, Mr. Attafuah was Managing Director of Virtual Access Limited, a market research firm.

Attafuah, a management consultant, previously headed the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) under Kufuor's previous administration between 2005 and 2009.
