The Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, denounced a multimedia trainee, noting that her interview request was disrespectful because she was trainee.

"Who gave you permission to call me to talk to me directly like this?" She said harshly to Rahinatu Abdul Bach, also a student at the Ghana Journalism Institute.

"You do not respect … go away, please," she said in Twi before hanging up. The incident occurred on July 12, 2019, when Rahinatu Abdul Bach had been headed by the editor of Adom FM, Samuel Dowuona.

The trainee wanted to know the department's response to the reports, as people were ordered to pick up garbage or sweep the streets.

The editor of Adom FM then spoke with the Minister of Sanitation about this incident. She asked the radio to show respect to her office by not sending trainees to interview the minister.

"You do not let a trainee call a minister, an elderly person like me? Please respect the office even if you do not respect me as a human being

"How do you allow a trainee to call your minister, ah."

The trainee said she was shocked by the minister's reaction and was having trouble leaving the registration booth after the end of the line.

She said that she's still considered a strong woman capable of fending for herself in the profession. She does an internship to improve her chances of finding a job in the media sector after graduation.
