NEW YORK (AP) – New York authorities have seized 20,000 counterfeit oxycodone tablets, suspected of containing a mixture of fentanyl and heroin.
The city's special drug prosecutor announced on Monday that four pills-related accused had been arrested earlier this month in Manhattan and the Bronx on various charges, including criminal possession of controlled substance.
Blue tablets have been labeled with M30 to look like prescription oxycodone. Authorities believe that fentanyl pills originate in Mexico. Fentanyl is an extremely powerful synthetic opioid.
The pills, which sell for up to $ 30 each, had a market value of $ 600,000.
