Avengers: The writers of the end of the game and the brothers Russo unveil the secrets of super-heroes at Comic-Con

Avengers fans enjoyed a double dose of Marvel goodness at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday. A panel composed of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, authors of the Avengers: Endgame, was followed by another with the directors of the film, Joe and Anthony Russo. Let's break some highlights.

1. Plan your work and work on your plan
Markus and McFeely brought props to their session, including two white boards describing the film's intrigues. A chart showed where the different Infinity Stones were at different times, and another helped to plan exactly what was happening in the final act of the movie. (These last two words, involving the fate of Iron Man, are just heartbreaking again.)

2. Heads up, Cape
Well, we're a little happy that it did not get into the movie. The editors said the idea was to bring Thanos into the main storyline at the end of Avengers: Endgame and to launch the decapitated head of Captain America 2012 to a later version of Cap. The idea was retained, but CNET's sister site, ComicBook.com, says Christopher Markus joked that the scene was "awesome".

3. Iron Man of a few words
Speaking of Iron Man and his destiny, the writers have written beautiful final words for the beloved character, but actor Robert Downey Jr. has stood firm. According to ComicBook.com, Downey told writers that his character had "more weight" when he did not speak very well, and he wanted his output to be quieter. Probably a more poignant choice.

4. Where is Gamora? Why Gamora?
At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Star-Lord did not give up Gamora in a previous scenario. The writers reiterated that his story would be deepened in The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, according to Slashfilm.

The Russo brothers reveal

Avengers: Endgame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, also hosted a panel discussion with various members of the Avengers group, broadcast by video to ask questions.

1. Do you believe in magic?
As we reported earlier, the Russo are part of the producers of the series Magic: The Gathering of Netflix. ComicBook.com reported that the brothers had announced that the show would begin as an animated series, but that it could potentially add live action. The two brothers also announced that they were producing adaptations of the Grimjack comic book series and the cartoon Battle of the Planets, but stated that it was too early to share much information.

2. cherry bomb
Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in Avengers, will also play in Cherry, a new Russo film, the panel said. Based on Nico Walker's 2018 novel, the film will tell the story of an Iraqi veterinarian who returns home and becomes addicted to opioids. Serious things for the young star Spidey.

3. Crazy questions
The video appearances of many Avengers entertained the crowd, but did not reveal any super-newsy scoops. Mark Ruffalo asks if Hulk is the smartest and strongest Avenger of the moment, but the crowd thinks it's Tony Stark or Shuri. Chris Evans wonders what Cape has done once installed in the past. Joe told him that he needed a break in the bathroom, while Anthony suggested Cape and true love, Peggy tried to start a family. And Ageless Ant-Man Paul Rudd wanted to know which of the many Marvel actors named Chris had the best example of "America's bad." (Chris Evans, DUH.)
