The Awutu-Senya District Administration of the Ghana Health Service has no maternal deaths and stillbirths in 2018.
Dr. Patricia Lawford Antwi, Director of District Health Services, reported on this during an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the annual performance appraisal meeting. 2018 to Awutu Bereku.

Malaria accounted for 29,186 (36.7%) followed by upper respiratory infections.
Other diseases were skin, anemia, rheumatism and other joint pains, acute respiratory tract infections and motor vehicle motor injuries.
Dr. Lawford Antwi, however, was concerned that, despite the free family planning services supported by Marie Stopes International, the number of family planning acceptors decreased slightly from 27.8% in 2017 to 27% in 2018.
She encouraged people in the reproductive age group and mothers in the district to take advantage of the program to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies and to space their deliveries.
Regarding teenage pregnancy, the director of health said that it rose to 12.3% and that the director had created health clubs for adolescents in the three high schools of the country, in the efforts to improve adolescent health services.
On preventive health, Dr. Lawford Antwi said 17,459 children in the district had been immunized in the national measles and rubella immunization campaign in 2018, or 107 percent, while vitamin A supplement coverage was 102.5%.
In total, 84,147 pieces of long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) were distributed to households representing about 91.2% of the national LLIN mbad distribution campaign.
During the year, the District Health Management Team (DHMT) found that some residents were using nets to fence farms and used as traps for windows and doors, and warned against this practice. wasted taxpayer money.
She congratulated Nenyi George Andah, MP for the region, for inviting health personnel from St. Paul's Mission in Egypt to conduct free medical examinations of some communities in the district.
Dr. Lawford Antwi stated that the Directorate, despite its many accomplishments, faced challenges, including the indebtedness of the national health insurance system, insufficient funds available to support health activities, lack of availability a permanent DHMT office for administrative work; and some functional CHPSs working in time structures.
She called on the Awutu-Senya District Assembly to sponsor some nurses for midwifery training, to provide the newly constructed CHPS compounds and to connect the water pipes to Bontrase, Papaase and other health facilities, which did not have access to drinking water.
